As a 3D artist, I created a stylised 2D looping car animation designed for motion graphics and visual storytelling.
The goal was to craft a dynamic, visually appealing sequence that blends cartoon style with 3D precision.
I used 3ds Max for the full animation pipeline, from modelling to rendering.
The car was modelled with a clean, low-poly aesthetic to maintain a graphic, stylised look.
Once modelled, I applied rigging techniques in 3ds Max to allow smooth wheel rotation, body tilt, and subtle suspension movement.
This setup gave the animation a lively and believable bounce as the car looped through its cycle.
To enhance motion and create a sense of speed, I used TyFlow particles to generate stylised smoke and skid marks.
These particles were set up with custom velocity settings to trail behind the car naturally.
The result added energy and motion without overwhelming the flat design aesthetic.
Lighting and rendering were done using V-Ray, where I applied toon-style shaders with clean outlines and flat colors.
V-Ray’s flexibility allowed me to maintain the 2D visual style while leveraging realistic light behavior.
I also used V-Ray’s denoiser and render elements for maximum control in post.
The final animation was composited and looped in After Effects.
I added glow effects, motion blur, and minor timing adjustments to polish the piece.
Color grading in post ensured the animation stayed vibrant and consistent with the intended style.
This project showcases my skills as a 3D artist who combines technical tools with creative direction.
It also highlights my experience in visualisation, rigging, and stylised motion design for digital media.
